First steps in Smaply

This is an easy, click-by-click guide giving you orientation and showing you how to get started in Smaply.

Dashboard: short overview, links to dedicated dashboard articles

→ In “Shared with me” you find the journey maps you were invited to collaborate on by colleagues.

→ All your journey maps are collected in this tab.

→ The same goes for personas.

Portfolio management: Pain points, opportunities and solutions from your journey maps are to be found here.

→ All metrics you created in various journey maps can be found here.

→ Here you can find templates to get started, or save the ones you created.

You can find our Helpdesk from the navigation when clicking the icon with your initial in the top right corner.

Now it’s time to get started! Create your first journey map.

Start by adding steps to build the core of your journey map. 

Then cluster your steps in stages for more structure. You can expand the cards to go over multiple columns.

Emotion chart / Grid lane: Create an emotion chart to help empathize with your persona. You can move the emoticons by dragging and dropping.

Images: Add images / screenshots / other artefacts to your journey map. It makes it easier to grasp and empathize, also then you have everything in one central place.

Add more lanes: Hover between lanes to add new lane types such as opportunities, linked journey maps, grids, and many more. Get more details on lanes, columns and cards.

Congratulations on your first journey map! Getting started is always the hardest part, and you did it! 🎉

Now, if you want to rename your journey map, add a description, assign who is in charge, and select a Journey Performance Indicator you can do so in the journey info section.
